Kidney disease/failure is often a complication of diabetes
or high blood pressure.
1) Eat A Healthy Diet.
Clean water, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and raw nuts.
Moderate amounts of baked, boiled and/or broiled meats.
Limit amounts of fried foods,
white flour and white sugar.
2) Include Physical Activity In Your
Daily Routine.
Fresh air and sunshine.
Walking, range

TYPE
2 DIABETES
Type
2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes which affects the way my body uses blood sugar (glucose). Complications
of type 2 diabetes include blindness, circulation, heart disease, lack of sexual function, kidney damage and nerve damage.

CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE (COPD)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD) is a group of chronic lung conditions which includes bronchitis and emphysema.
1) Do Not Smoke.
2) Avoid Exposure To Secondhand Smoke.
3) Minimize and/or Avoid Exposure To Air Pollution.
4) Avoid Exposure To Chemicals That Irritate The Respiratory System.
5) Eat
A Healthy Diet.

of risk factors such as age, family history and race. The risk factors that we can control are as follows.

3) Reduce and/or Maintain My Cholesterol Level.
4) Limit The Amount Of Saturated Fat In My Diet.
5) Eat A Healthy Diet.

INJURIES
The
leading cause of fatal accidents among men is motor vehicle crashes. To reduce my risk of a deadly crash, I should
do the following.
1) Wear My Seat Belt.
2)
Drive Within The Posted Speed Limit and/or Flow Of The Traffic.
3)
Do Not Drive Under The Influence Of Alcohol.
4)
Do Not Drive While Taking Medications That Will Impair My Judgment.
5)
Do Not Drive While Sleepy and/or Tired.
6)
Use Common Sense When Working and Lifting Heavy Objects.
PREVENTABLE HEALTH THREAT NUMBER TWO (2)
CANCER
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among men due to the fact a majority of men smoke cigarettes.
The second leading cause of cancer deaths among men is prostate cancer.
The third leading
cause of cancer deaths among men is colorectal cancer.
Cancer prevention includes but definitely not limited
to the following.
1)
Do Not Smoke.
2)
Drink In Moderation (resveratrol which is found in grapes and/or red wine).
3) Limit My Exposure To The Sun (use common sense).
4) Reduce My Exposure To Potential Cancer-Causing Substances.
5) Limit The Amount Of Saturated Fat In My Diet.
6) Eat A Healthy Diet.
